Director of Oracle Applications

My firm has been engaged to find a Director of Oracle Applications, for a dynamic and growing environmental services company headquartered in Houston. This firm enjoys a very forward thinking, progressive management team who understand the importance of information technology and the benefits it provides.
My client has a great deal of new system development currently taking place. They have recently undertaken the re-engineering their entire IT application infrastructure, including new sales force automation, ERP systems, order entry and more.
Responsibilities include:

• Manage the existing team of 6 FTEs, while hiring additional resources for future development needs.
• Act as the thought leader for Oracle Applications within the corporation, from both a technical and functional perspective. They currently have implementations of both 11i and 10.x.
• Manage a JD Edwards archiving project
• Oversee analysis, design, development and testing of extensions to Oracle Applications when existing system functionality is deficient compared to business requirements.
• Oversee testing for new releases, patches, or disaster recovery validation.
• Maintains strong internal-consulting relationships with managers and end-users in functional areas; Participates in the prioritization of project request and enhancement projects
• Coordinates schedule for system maintenance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications include:

• Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, accounting, math or a related field
• 5+ years experience managing ERP projects or groups
• 2 + years experience managing Oracle 11i Financial Applications (GL, AP, AR, FA, PO)
• 2 or more complete full lifecycle implementations of Oracle
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Proven experience with all components of a project lifecycle such as Planning, Analysis, Design, Construction and Testing.
• Leadership competency
• Track record of successful systems implementations involving implementation of new technologies and processes
• Well-developed ability to translate business acumen into actionable plans
• Well-developed people management and development abilities
• Well-developed technical writing and verbal communication skills
• Effective communication skills with all levels of management
• Well-developed planning and organization skills
