Oracle Functional Analyst Position - Houston Texas

| Contributes to all aspects of Oracle 11i(GL, AR,AP,PO,FA and ADI) implementation and deployment and deliver additional functionality and enhancements in accordance with out client's policies, practices and procedures. |
My firm has been engaged to find a senior Oracle Functional Analyst, for a dynamic and growing environmental services company headquartered in Houston. This firm enjoys a very forward thinking, progressive management team who understand the importance of information technology and the benefits it provides.
My client has an enormous amount of new system development currently taking place. They have recently undertaken the re-engineering their entire IT application infrastructure, including new sales force automation, ERP systems, order entry and more.
Responsibilities include:
• Works with end users to troubleshoot application issues.
• Provides analysis, design, and testing (SDLC) of extensions to Oracle Applications when existing system functionality is deficient compared to business requirements.
• Leads the development of end-user reporting solutions by understanding user requirements, designing reporting solutions, and coordinating the development of solutions in Oracle Discoverer and/or custom Oracle Reports.
• Understands and provides guidance in defining Oracle Application set-ups for assigned modules
• Assists in patch application, upgrade and system enhancements.
• Performs and coordinates testing for new releases, patches, or disaster recovery validation.
• Provides training of user department personnel and support and develop the Business System Module Experts.
• Monitors the Oracle Help Desk queue on a rotating basis with other IT organization team members to disposition production support and project requests
• Maintains strong internal-consulting relationships with managers and end-users in functional areas; Participates in the prioritization of project request and enhancement projects
• Coordinates schedule for system maintenance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications include:
• Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, accounting, math or a related field
• 4 - 7 years hands-on experience in configuring and supporting 11i releases of Oracle Financial Applications (GL, AP, AR, FA, PO)
• Well-developed working and technical knowledge Oracle Financials
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Proven experience with all components of a project lifecycle such as Planning, Analysis, Design, Construction and Testing.
• Leadership competency
• Excellent understanding of Oracle ERP application’s architecture, data structures and functionality. Familiar on how core Finance processes are implemented within Oracle Financials.
• Track record of successful systems implementations involving implementation of new technologies and processes
• Well-developed strategic business acumen
• Well-developed ability to translate business acumen into actionable plans
• Well-developed people management and development abilities
• Well-developed technical writing and verbal communication skills
• Effective communication skills with all levels of management
• Well-developed planning and organization skills
